ABOUT THE centre

Located at McMaster University, the Centre for Advanced Light Microscopy (CALM) provides access to established, cutting-edge light microscopy, photo-patterning, and light-assisted 3D printing techniques to help researchers in science, engineering and life sciences as well as our industrial partners achieve their scientific goals.

CALM Mission Statement

The mission of McMaster’s Centre for Advanced Light Microscopy is to support research and training in the science, engineering and life sciences communities by providing researchers access to world-class light microscopy  instrumentation  and  techniques,  expert  training,  technical  support  and  imaging  services. 

CALM Vision

The vision of McMaster’s CALM is to be a hub of excellence in light microscopy, characterized by world-class instrumentation, high quality scientific research, promoting cross-disciplinary interactions among researchers in science, engineering and life sciences, and training future generations of microscopists.
